Linguist makes sensational claim: English is a Scandinavian language
It is generally thought that the English language in the UK was heavily influenced by the Germanic language as proven by history and the migration of people groups into the British Isles.
But this provocative article & research now states that English is actually closer to a Scandinavian language such as Norwegian rather than a West Germanic language as previously thought.
